Margaret Hontos
Author
Margaret Hontos was born in Portsmouth, Virginia and spent her childhood traveling the globe as a Navy dependent. She earned MA and PhD degrees at UCLA in music composition. She spent twenty-five years as a music professor at Santa Barbara City College. During her academic career she published articles for various publications, and two textbooks, An Introduction to World Music and A Survey of Western Music and Literature: An Interactive Text. Since retiring, she has written the three novels available on the Work page and is currently finishing up a fourth, a historical novel about the 1930’s oil expropriation in Mexico. She lives on the Central Coast of California with her husband and Australian Shepard.
