Margaret Hontos
Author

Born to a sailor, Margaret Hontos spent her childhood on the Chesapeake Bay. Dropping out of school at 16, she lived the life of a wandering minstrel until economics and biology caught up with her. She returned to school and earned a PhD in music at UCLA while raising three wild and wonderful children. During her career as a music professor at Santa Barbara City College, she wrote two online textbooks. After her retirement in 2019, she embarked on the greatest adventure of all—writing fiction. Since then, she has written six novels, one of which, Wave Dancing, was a Book Life quarter-finalist. She lives in Central California with her husband and intrepid Australian Shepherd, Lyra.
